You are probably laughing right now but do not be fooled! A lot of people underestimate it! Ouzo is the strong staff! It is not the sweet liquor that you think it is. it is not just another drink, we are talking about strong alcohol here, don’t let its sweet taste seduce you and then when you slowly sip a whole bottle while admiring the fantastic view with your future husband or wife. The last thing you want to do is get drunk and have a hangover before your wedding date! Which brings us to the next item in our list,
Do not have your bachelor party less than 72 hours before the wedding.
Anything can happen. You have all seen the movie “The Hangover”! You don’t want to see it playing out in real life. Have a few days between the bachelor party and the wedding day! We do understand that Santorini is a fantastic place to party with all these clubs bars restaurants tavernas, but keep your eyes on the prize: have a wonderful time all these days and especially the day of your marriage.
Receiving lines
There are a lot of couples who prefer visiting tables to receiving lines. We strongly advise you for the first. People have made it all the way to this magical island in the center of the mediterranean sea that’s why weddings in santorini greece are so great! It will be so nice of you to welcome them to your wedding and thank them. If you don’t do this, you will have to go all around everyone’s table instead and say hello and thank you, thinking that each table will take you around ten good minutes each to greet them and exchange pleasantries. Allow more time than you think for makeup and hairdressers.
This is your wedding we are talking about. If you already work in show business then you’ll be fine! You already know the difference between a local hairdresser and a professional hair styler and makeup artist. It will take some time to get you in the shape that you want, not that there is something wrong with you! By no means, no! But it will take them a certain time to give you this pro-Hollywood treatment. After all, this is your wedding and you are the star of it! Enjoy it! Do not let additional stress about how long makeup and hair take to ruin it!
Island hopping is not for every day
Again it sounds simple but do not try to go around other greek islands two days before your wedding! Do not let FOMO get the best of yourselves! You are already in the most idyllic island in Greece for planning one of the best weddings in santorini. No disrespect to our other sister islands and we understand as Santorinians we are already biased, but this is the most magical island in the world! It is no accident that all the postcards with all these sunsets come from here, It is also no accident that Santorini is one of the top destinations worldwide for santorini weddings! So if you want to do island hopping let us know, let us accommodate this long before you say” I do”, not two days before! Unfortunately, accidents do happen! Stranded two islands on the left does not help!
